Our country is a copper resource-poor country and the second largest copper  consumer country in the world. The way to solve the contridiction between resourse lacking and large consuming is to import copper material from other country. After 1990^th, our country’s scrap copper importing amount increased a lot, in recent two years, we spent more than 2.25 billion. Our country is one of the largest scrap copper importing country in the world. The main resources of thr scrap sources is America an Japan, its proportion is about 38% and 25%. In addition, it is estimated that every year we can produce 150.000 tons scrap copper by ourselves.our country’s copper smelting industry copper raw material and scrap copper raw material is 2.69:1, scrap copper accounts for 27% in all copper raw material.

Our country has formed three key area (Yangtze River delta, the Bohai Sea, zhujiang delta) to become the dismantling, processing and consuming centre. In these area, refined copper accounts for less than 40%, but their renewable copper production is about 75.55%. our country’s 79.43% of the copper production enterprise are in these three areas.
